This Privacy Policy describes how Smart Abode ("Smart Abode," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information. It applies to all applications, programs, websites, services, and other properties owned or operated by Smart Abode (collectively, the "Services"), including our mobile and web applications, the smartabode.app website, and any associated features, regardless of how you access them. By using any of the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and password (or authentication credentials when you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google).
- Property and household data — information you enter about your properties, appliances, equipment, maintenance tasks, schedules, inventory, and shopping lists.
- Group and sharing data — information about people you invite to or share a property with, including their email addresses.
- Payment information — when you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment processors (such as Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, and Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers; we receive limited transaction and subscription-status information.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise correspond with us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — how you interact with the Services, such as pages or screens viewed, features used, and actions taken.
- Device and technical data — IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, and identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, and serve advertising (see Section 6).
- Notifications — if you enable push notifications, we collect a device push token to deliver them.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Generate and deliver maintenance reminders, schedules, and notifications.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting and database services (e.g., Google Firebase / Google Cloud), analytics, payment processing (e.g., RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, Google), and customer support.
- Other users you share with — when you add others to a property or group, the property and household data you share becomes accessible to those members.
- Advertising and affiliate partners — see Section 6.
- Legal and safety — to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Smart Abode, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information.
4. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party platforms that process data under their own privacy policies, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud (authentication, database, storage, and messaging), Google AdSense (advertising), and our payment processors. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers.
5. Affiliate Programs
Smart Abode participates in affiliate advertising programs. We may earn a commission when you purchase products or services through links in the Services, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
We and our partners use cookies, local storage, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and deliver and measure advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads; Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads based on your prior visits to the Services and other sites. You can learn about and opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info. Most browsers and devices let you manage or disable cookies and ad identifiers, though some features may not function without them.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
8. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

You can access and update much of your information within the Services, and you can delete your account and its data at any time — see Delete Your Account for self-service steps and an email request option if you can no longer sign in. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond as required by applicable law.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information, including the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal compliance. You have the rights described above and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
